Urban Lighthouse have donated £700 in March 2018 to more than cover the cost of a bed on Help Bristol's Homeless 'Home for a Night' converted bus, and are delighted to support such a worthy cause. It is unacceptable in such an affluent city that there are an unfortunate few who are forced to sleep outside. This project is very practically helping to make a difference.
Few can have failed to stop for a moment and reflect on our own good fortune that has saved us from the fate suffered by the homeless during the recent spell of snow and sub-zero temperatures. But whilst short term emergency plans can help in those moments of most urgent need, it is a problem throughout the year. Jasper Thompson founded this project, and is running 2 projects, the first to convert containers into self-contained flats, 5 of a total of 11 have been completed already. They cost about £10,000 each.
In addition he is overseeing a project to convert a double decker bus to 12 beds for the night. Urban Lighthouse are delighted to have sponsored a bed and are keen to see the project completed as soon as possible.

You can donate as little or as much as you like, but all contributions gratefully received. I would urge you to contribute if you possibly can. Please also visit https://www.helpbristolshomeless.co.uk to find out more information about this amazing project. Founder Jasper recently won the Bristol Post’s Gold Star community hero award 2017.
Urban Lighthouse view this as a longer term commitment to the homeless issue in Bristol, and pledge to donate £25 for every property which completes, either to this project, or another local homeless charity if you would prefer. We will offer each of our vendors to pay £50 of their own money (entirely discretionary), and Urban Lighthouse will double our donation to £50 – thus making a potential donation of £100 for every completed transaction.
